Nolan Bond is a rising freshman at The University of Texas at Austin as a journalism major. Bond is also joining New Voices Texas for his first year, and plans to learn and spread his knowledge using his two new opportunities at hand.



What I Do

My position, College Outreach Specialist, is a new position for New Voices Texas. In my job, I will raise awareness for our cause at the university level and gain college professor support and recognition. Connecting fellow student journalists and adult mentors through social media, letters, meetings and by any means possible is the main task of mine.

By the end of the year I will have met lots of people who share a similar passion to ours at New Voices Texas. I want to show that change can be made in a responsible way, as long as you have a dream and the means to reach it. I also want to apply my leadership skills to my best ability and become very engaged in my two new communities.
